We stayed on the coast below Taormina and climbed a flower lined path that must have been used by the Romans. Once we got to the city center, we kept climbing to this overlook with the city in the foreground and the Theatre opposite.

I was tempted to see what this lion sounded like but was afraid that old Italian lady dressed as black as a crow in a coal mine would come to the door.

Historically the most famous city in Sicily, Syracuse was a little disappointing in terms of its greek and roman era legacy. I took this photo just above above the greek theatre.
