Joe's very own Mustang Ranch

Brother Joe, for reasons none of us fully understand, has decided to keep Ford Motor Company afloat by buying every Mustang he can find.

The Corniche in Mutrah

We visited Oman in early October. This photo is in the Mutrah district of the capital city Muscat. The waterfront or corniche is the main port of Muscat. Just over the rugged hills to the south is old Muscat comprised of several old forts and new palaces. Just behind the Roseanne is the old Mutrah Souk where we bought a couple of old English compasses dating from the first part of the 20th century - remnants of the colonial era.

Al-Waha Hotel Lobby

Shangra-La Barr Al-Jissah Resort

The Barr Al-Jissah Resort is located just south of Muscat in Oman. Rooms in the least expensive of the three sections of the resort (the al-Waha shown here) run about $400. Children are not allowed in the most expensive al-husn part of the resort and liveried staff ushered us away once they recognized us as poor denizens of the al-waha. The italian restaurant was OK, the sea food restaurant good and the tapas place good as well.
